HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Volleyball team is utilizing the conference bye-week for another chance to compete with unconventional opponents this week. The Fighting Saints are competing in the 2024 Marvel Classic, hosted by future Frontier-member Bellevue in Bellevue, Nebraska.

The Fighting Saints (12-6, 2-5) got off to a scorching start to the 2024 season, but have cooled off in recent weeks. They'll look to get back on track this weekend in Nebraksa, aiming to set themselves up for a big second-half of the Frontier Conference season starting next week.

Carroll will play three teams over the next two days, starting with a Friday afternoon showdown with (RV) Ottawa (Kan.) at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Saints will kick things off bright and early at 8 a.m. against Grand View (Iowa), before wrapping up their event against host school No. 7 Bellevue at 10:30 a.m.

Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / GR) continues to lead the NAIA in digs per set. The defensive specialist is the only player in the nation to average more than 7 digs per set (7.02).

Success this week in Nebraska will hinge upon the Carroll attack. Both Heuiser sisters, Elizabeth (Helena, Mont. / R-JR) and Lauren (Helena, Mont. / SO) are tied for the team lead in kills entering the week at 158. A fellow Helenan, Rachael Stacey (Helena, Mont. / JR), transferred in this summer and has added some much needed firepower, adding in 118 kills of her own.

Hannah Schweikert (Columbia Falls, Mont. / R-JR) is currently No. 3 in the Frontier in assists per set, with a 9.42 average.
