HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College Cross Country returns to the race course again this week in Missoula, Mont. on Sept. 15 for the Montana Invitational hosted by the University of Montana.

The races serves as the preview for the Big Sky Conference Championships later this fall, and as such there will be a competitive field. In the men's race 12 teams will attend while 14 teams will compete for the women. The list includes NCAA teams University of Montana, Montana State, MSU-Billings, and CSU-Pueblo as well as NAIA foes Rocky Mountain College, MSU-Northern, Montana Western, and University of Providence.

The Saints will travel 7 women and 7 men to the event. Five of the individuals racing on each side placed in the Top 10 last week at the Conference Preview where both teams took first. Isabelle Ruff was the top scorer for the women as was Zack Gacnik for the men.

"It can be tough to race on back to back weekends especially for the men over 8k, but we've been focused on recovering from last week and keeping our eyes on the long term goals for the season," said Head Coach Shannon Flynn. "This meet should bring a competitive atmosphere that we didn't want to miss out on, so we'll be aiming to be racers out there and to find ways to improve individually and as a team."

The races will take place at the University Golf Course with the Men's 8k at 9:30 am and the Women's 5k at 10:10 am.
