CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced today with 1,401 women's collegiate golfers from 378 programs recognized with this prestigious honor. Carroll College saw three players recognized for their academic achievement in the 2022-23 season.
Carroll's three representatives on the list are:
Echo Anderson (Post Falls, Idaho / JR)
Megan Baxter (Thompson Falls, Mont. / SO)
Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / FR)
This marks the second consecutive year that
Echo Anderson has been named an All-American Scholar. She was the lone recipient in the 2021-22 season, but is joined by a pair of underclassmen in the 2022-23 campaign.
Megan Baxter, along with Anderson, was also named an Academic All-Conference selection and a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
Stella Claridge is the lone Carroll freshman appearing on the list.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high level academic achievements of collegiate players.
To be selected, a student-athlete must:
• Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
• Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
• Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
