Bozeman, Mont. – Saints Track & Field opened their indoor season at the Bobcat Preview in Bozeman, Mont. on Thursday December 7.
Twenty nine Saints competed at the meet including newcomers Gabriella Domenici, Rylee Herbstritt, Taliana Miller, Montana Pierson, Wyatt Cox, Tucker Monaco, Carter White, and Wyatt Ehredt.
Tate Kauffman was the meet highlight with a second place finish in the Triple Jump. The mark hit the NAIA Indoor National Qualifying A Standard, locking in a spot for Kauffman at the National Meet in early March.
Connor O'Hara ran a personal record in the 5000m, narrowly missing the Qualifying Standard by only 6 seconds. In her debut 5000m indoors, Nicole Morgen equaled her track personal best. Chloe Gallagher vaulted well and was just shy of qualifying in the Pole Vault by under half of an inch.
"I was so happy with how every athlete went out there and competed," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "The freshmen especially I thought had a lot of confidence, and this is a great starting point for all of us for the season," he added.
