KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the latest edition of the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Rating presented by FirstDown PlayBook. Carroll College appears on the list at No. 16.
The Fighting Saints (7-2, 5-2) fell four spots in the latest poll from No. 12 to No. 16 following a 38-17 loss to then-ranked No. 13 Montana Western.
Carroll remains one of four Frontier Conference teams appearing on the top-25 (No. 5 College of Idaho, No. 10 Montana Western, No. 22 Montana Tech).
The last time the Fighting Saints were ranked No. 16 was the final poll of last season (November 13, 2022) after defeating then-ranked No. 11 College of Idaho to secure a share of the Frontier title and the conference's auto-bid to the NAIA Football Championship Series.
Only one game remains in the 2023 regular season, a high-noon showdown this Saturday between the No. 16 Fighting Saints and No. 22 Montana Tech with tremendous playoff implications on the line. A Carroll victory would likely secure a second-consecutive trip to the NAIA FCS, while a loss would most likely end their season.

Rating Methodology
- The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
- Each conference is given one rater for every four schools in the league or division.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 25 points for each first-place vote, 24 for second-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
