No. 5 Carroll Women Close Out Arizona Trip with Win at Embry-Riddle, 61-46

PRESCOTT, Ariz. - The No. 5-ranked Carroll College Women's Basketball team picked up a 61-46 win over Embry-Riddle on Monday afternoon to cap off a weekend swing in Arizona.

The Fighting Saints (2-2) got things back on track on Monday, cruising to a 15-point win over the Eagles (0-3) in a rare weekday afternoon game.

Jamie Pickens (Helena, Mont. / SR) dominated the opening frame. Her name appeared all over the play-log in the first five minutes, both offensively and defensively. Pickens scored seven points, and pulled down six first quarter rebounds and Carroll would take a 15-7 lead into the second.

Kyndall Keller (Havre, Mont. / SR) and Maddie Geritz (Boise, Idaho / GR) each scored five points in a second quarter that saw the Saints double up the Eagles yet again, and Carroll would lead 29-14 at the break.

Gertiz added another seven points to her final tally in the third quarter, while Willa Albrecht crashed the boards and pulled down five rebounds, but Eagles would chip into the Carroll lead, 44-34.

Carroll out-rebounded ERAU 8-3 in the final frame, and the Saints would close out the 61-46 win to even their record at 2-2.

Pickens added yet another double-double, this one to the tune of 17 points and 11 rebounds, with her 17 points being a game-high.

Maddie Gertiz scored 13 points, Kyndall Keller scored 12, and the pair each grabbed six rebounds in the win.

No one for ERAU posted double-digit points, with their leading scorer coming off of the bench (Ella Schott).

Carroll will return to Helena late tonight, and begin preparations for their annual field trip game this Thursday at 12 p.m. against Stephens College (Mo.)
