KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the latest edition of the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Rating presented by FirstDown PlayBook. Carroll College appears at No. 11 in the latest rating.
The Fighting Saints (6-1, 4-1) suffered their first setback of the 2023 season on Saturday, and slid back five spots to No. 11 in the poll after a 35-21 loss to now-ranked No. 8 College of Idaho.
Carroll is the second-highest ranked team in the Frontier Conference, who still has four teams appearing inside the top-25 (College of Idaho - No. 8, Carroll - No. 11, Montana Western - No. 13, Montana Tech - No. 23).
This is not the first time that the Saints have fallen to No. 11 following an October loss. In the 2015 season, Carroll moved from No. 4 to No. 11 on the October 12 poll following a one-score loss at Eastern Oregon. That particular poll is also the last time that the Saints have appeared at No. 11 in the nation.
This is the first time since the preseason poll that the Saints have not appeared within the top-10, after starting the season at No. 15.
The Saints will look to get back on track this weekend, as the team will make their final, and longest, road trip of the 2023 regular season, traveling to Ashland, Ore. for a matchup with Southern Oregon on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Rating Methodology
- The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
- Each conference is given one rater for every four schools in the league or division.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 25 points for each first-place vote, 24 for second-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
