Bozeman, Mont. – The Carroll College track and field team competed well at the Bobcat Challenge in Bozeman, Mont. on Friday January 20 and Saturday January 21.
On the men's side, several individuals earned national qualifying marks. Brett Glaser won the Heptathlon and moved into 8th position nationally. Garrett Kocab hit the B Standard in the Shot Put. Beyond the qualifiers, highlights included a strong Heptathlon debut for Jackson Tarum and a personal record for Tate Kauffman in the triple jump where he placed second.
For the women, Natalie Yocum won the 800m and raced near national qualifying times in both the 800m and Mile. Paige Baxstresser had a strong debut in the 400m while Katelyn McKay and Erika Arthur achieved personal records in the 3000m. Sorren Reese, Maggie Pluhar, and Makayla Goffena completed their first Pentathlon.
"We had so much fun watching the athletes compete in this meet," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "Many individuals got off to a great start, so we're excited to go to work and improve from here," he added.
The Saints return to competition next weekend at the Stacy Dragila Invite in Pocatello, Idaho.
