HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Football team is back in action on Saturday, Hosting the Raiders of Southern Oregon at 2 p.m. at Nelson Stadium.

After 28 days, the Saints are back at home in front of the Carroll faithful, who will surely be out in force as Carroll welcomes alumni, family, and friends back for homecoming weekend.

The homecoming festivities, including this morning's Hall of Fame ceremony where former Saints greats Gary Wagner, Andy Fjeseth, Thomas Dolan, and the 2009 team are being inducted, will bump back the kick-off to 2 p.m. as opposed the regular 1 p.m. start.

Carroll enters the game coming off of a wild 25-23 win last weekend in La Grande, Ore. over Eastern Oregon.

Spencer Berger (Billings, Mont. / FR) went 3-3 on FG attempts in the game, and most importantly, knocked down a 33-yard field goal with less than 2 minutes in the game to secure the big road win. Berger's performance earned him not only Frontier Conference Player of the Week recognition, but also NAIA National Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Zach Spiroff (Helena, Mont. / JR) also had a monster game, securing two interceptions, as well as scooping and scoring a wild two points off of a blocked PAT to keep within striking distance for Berger to kick the game-winner. Spiroff's big weekend earned him Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Carroll will look to get the offense going this weekend after a tough day passing the ball last Saturday in La Grande. Quarterback Jack Prka (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho / SO) will look to bounce back from a forgettable day, and move the ball effectively against the Raiders. That task will be made easier with SOU being forced to try to stop a Carroll run game that is rapidly picking up steam. The Saints had two backs go over 100 yards rushing last week, Duncan Kraft (Billings, Mont. / R-JR) and Matt Burgess (Junction City, Ore. / R-JR).

Southern Oregon (1-2) comes into this afternoon's contest off of a 35-24 loss against now-ranked No. 11 College of Idaho last weekend. An untimely pick-six in the late stages of the game was ultimately too tough of an obstacle to overcome for the Raiders. Quarterback Blake Asciutto has been solid for SOU, passing for 622 yards and seven touchdowns on the year.

Today's homecoming contest will be streamed live on the Fighting Saints Network, and live stats for the game are available HERE. Join voice of the Saints, Stewart Davis, and Carroll Hall of Famer Gary Turcott for the radio broadcast on 94.9 FM or online HERE.
