HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Women's Volleyball team is back in action Friday and Saturday, as they take part in the 2022 OUAZ Invitational in Surprise, Ariz.

The Saints are coming off of a full weekend of play at the Big Sky Challenge in Butte, which saw them start the year .500. Carroll picked up wins over Vanguard and Dickinson State, and dropped games to two ranked opponents, No. 12 Eastern Oregon and No. 2 Jamestown.

Head Coach Moe Boyle was pleased with her team's start to the year. "We played some very tough teams," Said Boyle. "We were right there in every match, and the team saw that they can compete with anyone."

Carroll also took a quick trip to Missoula this past week for a scrimmage with NCAA Montana, something that they have not historically done very often. The additional game action was welcomed by all in the Carroll program, as they continue to work on buidling relationships and team chemistry.

The Saints will enter the weekend feeling confident, considering the recent performances of several key players. DS Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / JR) continued the stellar performance that Saints fans have become accustomed to, averaging 6.0 digs per set through the first four games. OH Sidney Gulick (Kalispell, Mont. / FR) impressed in her collegiate debut, finishing the weekend with 40 kills.

Carroll will take on Embry Riddle at 10:00 a.m. Friday, followed by a tilt with Wayland Baptist at 3:00 p.m. The Saints will then return to the court on Saturday for another two matches, starting at 9:00 a.m. with Park Univeristy and wrapping up with Ottawa (AZ) at 2:00 p.m.
