HAVRE, Mont. - The No. 23 Carroll College Men's Basketball team is ready for action in Havre, Mont. this afternoon, squaring off with MSU-Northern from the Armory Gymnasium at 4 p.m.
Carroll (5-1, 1-0) picked up a win in their Frontier Conference opener on Thursday, beating Montana Western 76-65 in Helena. Coming off just one day of rest, the Saints will now take on an MSU-Northern team (6-1, 0-1) that is off to a good start to their year.Â
The Lights fell in their first game of conference play on Thursday to Providence, 82-77, their lone loss on the season.Â
Both Carroll and MSU-Northern have a common opponent in the University of Lethbridge, with both teams picking up early season wins over the Pronghorns.
Today's game will feature the two leaders in Frontier Conference field goal percentage. The Lights' Jesse Keltner is leading the league (64.6 percent) with Carroll's
Brendan Temple (Castle Rock, Colo. / SR) sitting in second at 62.7 percent from the field.
After another strong performance on Thursday, Carroll still has the second and third points per game players in the league,
Andrew Cook (Huntington Beach, Calif. / SO) at 16.5 ppg and
Jonny Hillman (Post Falls, Idaho / SR) at 15.7 ppg. The pair will likely be relied upon again today to come away with another Frontier win.
The Saints have won nine-straight games over the Lights dating back to 2020, and will look to extend their streak to double-digits today.
