BILLINGS, Mont. - The Carroll College Golf Teams finished their final tournament of the Fall season on Tuesday in Billings at the Battlin' Bears Invite, with both the Men and Women finishing fifth in the team event.

The Frontier Conference Fall Golf slate came to an end this weekend at the Battlin' Bears Invite at Yegen Golf Club in Billings.

Carroll's Makayla Christiansen (Oakdale, Calif. / JR), a transfer from Vanguard, was the low Saint of the tournament on the Women's side. Christiansen finished 79-78 (+15) to lead the way for the Saints en route to a tie for fourth place individually. Christiansen was flanked by Katie Fagg (Missoula, Mont. / SR) who finished +25, good enough for 17th. Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / FR) and Echo Anderson rounded out the four counting scores of the saints, finishing +33 and +40 respectively.

The Saints finished in fifth place, behind tournament champion Rocky Mountain College, North Idaho College, Montana Tech, and Rocky's second squad.

On the Men's side of the action, Leo Werschay (St. Augusta, Minn. / FR) continued his stellar Freshman campaign. Werschay went 69-74-73 (+3) for the event, which placed him 14 in an extremely competitive Men's side of the individual competition. Werschay's 69 in the first round marks his new low-tournament round of his career. Sam Conner (+25), Caleb Spangler (+26) and Kaden Matheny (+36) rounded out Carroll's four counting scores on the Men's side.

The Men finished fifth behind tournament champion North Idaho College, Rocky Mountain College, Montana Tech, and Rocky's second team.

Valentina Zulueta from Rocky won the Women's individual event, posting an even-par 142 for the event, and North Idaho College's Caden Gambini was the Men's medalist, with an impressive nine-under (204) finish to his three rounds.

The Carroll teams will now spend the winter focusing on schoolwork and swing tweaks as they prepare for the spring portion of their season, picking back up in March.
