PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Carroll College Women's soccer team finished off their Portland road trip with a 3-0 win over Warner Pacific, tallying a dominant 13-0 scoring margin this weekend.
The scoring got started early for the Saints thanks to a
Katie Martin assist leading to a 4th minute goal by
Melissa Dugger.
After jumping out to the 1-0 lead, the Saints didn't look back as they kept adding on with goals by
Zoie Koci (18th minute) and
Emily Funseth (37th minute), assisted by
Kody Clements and
McKenna Payne respectively.
The trio of goals gave the Saints the 3-0 lead at the half and the score would stay that way for the remainder of the game. Carroll and Warner Pacific each had 14 shots with 9 on goal, but thanks to
Sarah Conway's work in goal, the Saints recorded yet another clean sheet. Conway ended Saturday night's contest with 9 saves.
The Fighting Saints now improve to 3-1 in Cascade Conference play, good enough for third in the conference at this young stage of the season. Warner Pacific drops to 0-3 in conference.
Carroll now turns their attention to a pair of home matches against Northwest and Evergreen at Nelson Stadium Friday and Sunday next weekend.
