HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College women's basketball head coach
Rachelle Sayers announced her second signee for the class of 2022 on Wednesday morning. Clare Converse, a 5-foot-11 guard/forward from Kalispell, Mont., put pen to paper to join the Carroll Women's Basketball family.
Converse will graduate from Flathead Highschool in 2022. She currently holds a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the student council and national honors society. She has lettered in basketball, volleyball, track, tennis, and golf.
On the basketball court, Clare was an all-conference and all-state performer in addition to receiving both of those honors in volleyball. As a junior, she led the Flathead Bravettes with eight points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists per game.
"Clare is a great athlete. I think her best basketball years are ahead of her. We have been watching and recruiting Clare for a long time and we are so excited that she chose to be a Saint," Sayers said. "Her size and athleticism will allow us to play her in a lot of different positions. She is a tremendous student and she will have a great career here. Her mom's name covers the record books here at Carroll, so I know that this is not only a big deal to our team, it is a huge deal to the Carroll community, our alumni and her family. "
Clare is the daughter of Stan and Catherine (Mason) Converse. Her mom is one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the program, tallying 1492 career points.
Converse had interest from University of Montana, Idaho State, Seattle Pacific, Embry Riddle, and Colorado Christian but ultimately chose to be a Saint.
"I loved the culture and the atmosphere created by the coaches and the team when I visited Carroll," Converse said. "I feel so blessed and am very excited to be a part of such an amazing basketball program, and to have the opportunity to receive such an amazing education!"
