HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College Softball team split two games with Warner Pacific on Friday at Centennial Park.
The Saints won the first game, which counted as a Cascade Conference game, by a final score of 2-1 to avoid the sweep.
Abby Hanley, a sophomore from Las Vegas, Nev., scored both of the runs for the Saints in addition to pitching all seven innings en route to the win.
With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Amber Brewer stepped up to the plate and hit a walk-off single that scored Hanley to put the Saints in the win column.
The second game of the double-header, much like the first game, was another pitcher's duel. Warner Pacific knocked in two runs in the top of the third inning, which were the only runs of the game, as they went on to win 2-0.
Carroll is now 8-21 on the season, with a conference record of 4-10. They will play at home once again next weekend, as they play host to Bushnell for four games on Friday and Saturday at Centennial Park.
