Lewiston, Idaho -- The Carroll College Men's Basketball team will open National Tournament play on in Lewiston, Idaho on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. MST against the Rams of Texas Wesleyan.
After finishing second in the Frontier Conference, the Saints earned the number two seed in Lewiston Bracket #2. The winner of Carroll and Texas Wesleyan will advance to Saturday and play Arizona Christian at 3:30 p.m. MST with a trip to Kansas City on the line.
The Saints will be led by Shamrock Campbell, their senior point guard from Spokane, Wash., who was named first team all-conference and Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year last week. On the year, Campbell finished with 75 assists to just 16 turnovers all while averaging 14.2 points per game on 50.2% shooting from the field.
For the Rams, they are 10-5 on the season with a conference record of 6-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The leading scorer for Texas Wesleyan is Vydal Bradford, a senior guard from Fairfield, Calif., at 15.6 points per game.
