DILLON, Mont. - In their first of two matches this weekend, the Carroll Volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over the Montana Western Bulldogs in Dillon on Friday night. With that win, the Saints move to a record of 2-1 on the season.
The Saints started off the match strong, taking the first set by a score of 25-20. After that, they kept their foot on the gas winning the second set 25-10.
It appeared at that point that the Saints would run away with a win, especially when they jumped out to a commanding 19-4 lead in set number three. However, an 18-4 Western run brought it to a 23-22 score before Carroll scored the final two points, winning the third set 25-22.
Leading the way for the Saints with 11 kills was Lexie Gleasman, a redshirt freshman from Chelan, Wash. Right behind her with seven kills each were Taelyr Krantz, a junior from Helena, and Lexi Mikkelsen, a junior out of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.
Carroll will look to extend their winning streak to three on Saturday at 1:00pm at Straugh Gymnasium, taking on the Bulldogs for the second time in as many days. You can catch the action live on the Bulldog Sports Network at https://umwbulldogs.com/watch/?Live=45&type=Live
