HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Men's Basketball team returns home to the PE Center on Thursday night to tip-off conference play against MSU-Northern at 7 p.m.
Heading into the Frontier Conference schedule, the Saints currently hold a record of 10-0 on the year. In the latest edition of the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll, they bumped up one spot to number four in the nation. Thursday will mark the first contest against an NAIA opponent since November 20, when they defeated a tough Corban team 53-50 at the Bushnell Classic.
The Saints did, however, play an exhibition game at Utah State on Monday night.
Senior Forward
Jovan Sljivancanin has been stuffing the stat sheet this season. He is the team's leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 18.9 points per game and 12.6 rebounds per game. He has posted a double-double in nearly every game this year.
Shamrock Campbell (13 ppg.),
Brendan Temple (11 ppg.), and
Ifeanyi Okeke (10 ppg.) are also averaging double figures for the Saints.
As a team, Carroll is scoring 78.4 points per game and they're holding opponents to 58.6 points on average.
The Lights of MSU-Northern come into the conference season with a record of 7-1 so far. They are on a six-game winning streak, and most recently defeated Our Lady of the Lake 75-62.
Leading the way for MSU-Northern will likely be Mascio McCadney and David Harris, who have become household names in the Frontier Conference.
Thursday night's game will be streamed live on the
Fighting Saints Network, sponsored by Point S Tire and Auto Service. Point S is also the sponsor of the game tonight at the PE Center.
