Carroll Women's Golf finishes third, Men take fifth at Battlin' Bears Invitational

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Carroll Men's and Women's golf teams competed at the Battlin' Bears Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Yegen Golf Club in Billings. The Carroll men finished in fifth place as a team and the women finished in third as a team.
 
On the men's side, Rocky finished at the top of the table with a combined score of 284. Carroll wound up in fifth place with a combined score of 930.
 
Samuel Berry Finished in a tie for fifth with a combined 212 over three rounds. He shot an impressive 68 in his first round to highlight the tournament. Josh Neth was the other Saint to finish in the top 10 with a combined score of 217.
 
The women finished in third place behind Rocky and Montana Tech. Rocky finished in first with a combine 636. The Saints posted a score of 655 as a team.
 
Katie Fagg was lights out over the two rounds, shooting a combined 155 to finish in third. Caroline Hobson scored a 160 to land herself in a tie for fourth. Ellie Thiel (169) and Zita Gravely (171) also posted top 10 finishes.
 
The Battlin' Bears Invitational was the Saints' final competition of the fall. They will gear up for the Frontier Conference Championships this spring at Banbury CC in Eagle, Idaho.
