Box Score HELENA, Mont. — The Carroll Football team earned a hard-fought victory on the road over Eastern Oregon 34-27 on Saturday afternoon.

Carroll got the scoring started in the first quarter. Jack Prka connected with his high school teammate Jake Brown from 26 yards out to put the Saints up 7-0 with 3:18 left in the first. That was Brown's first career touchdown.

On the ensuing drive, Eastern Oregon marched down the field and equalized on a nine-yard Kai Quinn touchdown run.

Later on in the second quarter, Tom Robitaille recovered a fumble forced by Rex Irby. A couple plays later, Marcus Wittman scored his first career touchdown on a keeper from seven yards out. The Saints led 14-7 with 10:27 left in the second quarter.

The Mounties responded again with a touchdown to tie the game. This time it was a Kai Quinn two-yard shovel pass to Nathan Reed with 8:38 left in the half.

Stephen Powell and Zachary Cahill each added a field goal and the score was tied 17-17 going into the half.

Coming out of the break, the Mountaineers took the momentum by rattling off 10 straight points on another Cahill field goal and a one-yard touchdown run by Andrew James.

The Saints trailed 27-17 with 5:42 left in the third quarter.

It looked like Carroll was going to have to punt back to EOU on the next possession after they got stopped on a third down. Marcus Wittman connected with Tug Smith on a fake punt to move the chains, then Prka tossed a touchdown to Kyle Pierce from 24 yards out.

Going into the fourth quarter, the Mountaineers held a 27-24 lead.

Kyle Pierce caught his second touchdown from Jack Prka from 28 yards out with 3:33 left in the game to get the Saints in the lead 31-27.

Tucker Jones followed up the touchdown with an interception deep in Eastern territory. The Saints were able to cement the 34-27 victory with another Powell field goal and two game-clinching sacks from Hunter Peck.

Jack Prka had a big day today finishing with 20 completions on 33 attempts for 286 passing yards and three touchdowns.

The Saints return home next weekend to face off with Southern Oregon at Nelson Stadium.
