Saints dominate Yellowstone Christian College, 117-40

HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College Fighting Saints men's basketball team opened their 2021-22 campaign with a dominant 117-40 home win over Yellowstone Christian College.

Senior Guard Shamrock Campbell led all scorers with 27 points and also posted a game-high five assists. He shot 9-for-13 from the field. 

All five starters for the Saints posted double-digit point totals, Ifeanyi Okeke scored 11, Gui Pedra scored 15, and Brendan Temple added 10. Frontier Conference Preseason Player of the Year, Jovan Sljivancanin scored 17 points, and corralled a game high 18 rebounds. 

The Saints' offense set the tone early, racing out to a 16-0 lead in the first 5 minutes of the game. The Saints were extremely efficient on the offensive side of the ball, with the team shooting 56.7 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3, and 81.1 percent from the free-throw line. In total, all 11 Saints that played scored. 

Carroll held Yellowstone Christian to just 25.8 percent from the field, and forced the Centurions into 22 turnovers.

Carroll College will play an exhibition contest against Dawson Community College on Sunday, in Lewistown, MT.
