HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll volleyball team lost to the Providence Argos 3-1 on Tuesday night at the PE Center.
Looking to make a statement against an Argo team with only two losses, the Saints came out of the gate on fire. Point after point, they won the first set 25-17 to jump out to an early lead.
In the second set, the Argos found their footing. Providence evened up the match by winning the second set 25-12.
Once the Argos got going, they would not be stopped. They went on to win what would end up being the final two sets 25-15 and 25-18 respectively.
Lexie Gleasman led the way for the Saints attack with 12 kills.
Julia Carr had another strong defensive performance totaling 33 blocks.
Jenna Thorne had a game-high 18 kills for Providence. Setter Cydney Finberg-Roberts added 38 assists.
The Saints, now 10-11 overall and 3-2 in conference play, will be off until October 22 when they host Montana Western at the PE Center.
