HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 6-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints kept their perfect Frontier Conference record intact on Saturday, defeating No. 25 Providence 71-63 in Great Falls.
Senior
Christine Denny led all scorers with 21 points, a point off her career-high. Denny scored 15 of her 21 in the second half, helping the Saints put away Providence. She also added a game-high nine rebounds.
Danielle Wagner added 16 points, while
Jamie Pickens scored 14 to lead the Saints (11-1, 5-0 Frontier Conference).
The Saints' starters scored all but four of the team's points.
Carroll held a 27-24 lead at halftime, and extended that in the second half.
Emilee Maldonado led the Argonauts (2-1, 2-1) with 18 points.
The Saints shot 50% from the field while the Argonauts shot 38%.
The win is the fourth consecutive for the Saints and also improved their road record to 8-1.
The Saints and Argonauts square off again Sunday afternoon.
