HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College Fighting Saints men's basketball team took a hard loss to Lewis-Clark State College in the Frontier Conference Championship, falling 75-54 on Monday in Lewiston, Idaho.
The Saints (24-9) shot just 35% from the field and 27% from the three-point line, while their counterparts shot 56% from the field and 44% from deep.
LCSC (29-3) also used a big rebounding margin to keep the Saints down, 34-21.
It took five minutes for the Saints to register a field goal to start the game. And after that, the Saints never could find a steady flow against the Warriors. The game was played at a slow, defensive pace. Carroll looked to work the ball inside, but couldn't get its shot to fall consistently.
Shamrock Campbell hit a pair of threes early in the second half to give the Saints a little momentum, but Carroll couldn't find a way to keep the Warriors from breaking loose.
Josiah Westbrook scored a game-high 19 points.
Dane Warp and Campbell each contributed 12 points for Carroll.
LCSC evened the season series at 2-2.
The Saints will learn of their national tournament seeding at 6 p.m. MST on Wednesday.
