HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 21 Carroll College Fighting Saints suffered their first setback of the season, falling 81-59 to No. 7 Morningside College at a neutral site in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
The Saints (1-1) hung tight during the game's first 15 minutes, but Morningside closed the first half on a 10-2 run to hold a 14-point advantage at halftime. Morningside kept its distance from the Saints the rest of the way, using strong play in the interior to score.
Shamrock Campbell scored a career-high 23 points to lead the Saints, hitting 8-of-16 shots, including 7-for-11 from the three-point line, but only
Dennis Flowers III joined him in double figures with 10 points.
The Saints shot 36% from the field and 38% from deep.
Morningside shot 56% from the field and 47% from the three-point line.
The Saints' next scheduled contest is November 20 in Helena against Dickinson State.
