HELENA, Mont. -- Big plays, 33 points and 9 rebounds from Dane Warp, another 20 points and 21 rebounds from Jovan Sljivancanin and a bit of moxie allowed the No. 9 Carroll College Fighting Saints to defeat Rocky Mountain College in triple overtime, 101-97 on Wednesday night in Billings.
The win kept the Saints (14-3, 5-0) undefeated in the Frontier Conference, while dropping Rocky to 1-4.
It all started with Warp's desperation triple with time winding down in regulation. Warp hit the three and the overtime slugfest began.
Then, in the first overtime the Saints found themselves trailing by three with a minute left when Jonny Hillman stroked a triple that would prove to be the equalizer and send the game to a second overtime.
In the second overtime, it was a three by Rocky's Darius Henderson with 21 seconds left to once again tie the game. Henderson tied Warp's game-high 33 points.
Carroll struck first in the third overtime, building a five-point lead thanks to a three from Shamrock Campbell and then another score from Sljivancanin and a free throw.
Rocky cut the lead to two points with 32 seconds left, but a pair of free throws from Dennis Flowers III iced the game with 22 seconds left.
Warp shot 11-for-23 from the field for his 33 points. Joining Warp and Sljivancanin in double figures for the Saints were Flowers III with 14, Campbell with 12 and Ifeanyi Okeke with 12.
The Saints return home to the PE Center on Friday to face Montana Western.
