HELENA, Mont. -- Carroll College's athletic communications earned national recognition in the annual NAIA-SIDA Publications and Media Contest, earning five Top 10 citations during the 2018-19 athletic calendar.
Carroll College Sports Information Director Erik Anderson received honors in the Dr. Jack Bell Writing Contest. His game recap submissions earned third and 10th place honors among a wide swath of entries. He also placed fourth and ninth in the Season Preview/Review categories for his coverage of Carroll men's and women's basketball and his game notes detailing Carroll's run to the national championship earned a ninth place in the Game Notes section.
"It's remarkable to be recognized alongside some of the very best and brightest in the NAIA," said Anderson, who will complete his first year with the Saints in August. "We're just scratching the service of what's to come with Carroll College Athletics. I'm proud to be a part of an incredible athletic department and two great conferences in the Frontier and Cascade."
Representatives from across the Frontier Conference and Cascade Collegiate Conference populated the award list. Staffers from Montana Western, Southern Oregon, Eastern Oregon, College of Idaho, Northwest Christian and Oregon Tech combined for a total of 24 honors.
