Carroll hosts Lewis-Clark State with third consecutive title on the line

HELENA, Mont. -- A third consecutive Frontier Conference postseason championship is obtainable Tuesday night for the Carroll College Fighting Saints.

No. 1-seed Carroll College (25-6) hosts No. 2-seed Lewis-Clark State College (26-6) on Tuesday at 7 p.m in the Frontier title game.

The Saints earned a semifinal win over Montana Tech on Saturday, downing the Orediggers 81-64 to reach the finale.

Lewis-Clark State made its way to the championship game by defeating Montana Western 94-74 and then trouncing Montana State-Northern 95-53.

The Warriors enter the game with the NAIA's top scoring margin at 23.7 points per game and the best turnover margin at 5.4.

Carroll counters with the best shooting in the NAIA. The Saints are ranked No. 1 in three-point percentage (43), field-goal percentage (52) and free-throw percentage (81).

The Saints claimed the regular season series 2-1, winning twice in Helena.

The Warriors are arguably the deepest team in the Frontier Conference. Three players average over 10 points per game, while no player plays over 27 minutes per game.

Lewis-Clark State enters the game on a 10-game winning streak, having last lost to Carroll and Rocky on Jan. 24 and 26, respectively.

It's the fourth consecutive championship game the Saints have appeared in, previously winning the past two -- both in the PE Center.
