HELENA, Mont. -- Dani Wagner scored a career-high 28 points, Hannah Dean added 21 and the No. 8 Carroll College Fighting Saints shook off a slow start to get by Montana Tech 63-52 on Thursday night in Butte. 

It's the sixth consecutive win for the Saints (21-7, 13-4 Frontier Conference) and it was a season-series sweep of the Orediggers. The victory also keeps the Saints' chances of sharing or winning the Frontier Conference alive, depending on how No. 4 Montana Western finishes.

After trailing 13-10 in the first quarter, a period where the Saints shot just 21 percent from the field, Carroll shot 9-for-16 in the second quarter.

Wagner shouldered most of the second quarter load. The junior from Havre, Montana, poured in 13 points in the period, unhinging the Saints' offense.  Carroll never trailed again after taking the lead in the second quarter. 

The Saints swapped buckets with the Orediggers in the second half, dispelling a MTT run in both the third and fourth quarters close out the game.

Wagner has scored 18 or more points in three of the Saints' past four games. Her 28 points on Thursday surpassed her previous career-high of 22. 

Dean finished with her seventh game of 20 or more points this season. 

Dean and Wagner both finished one rebound shy of a double-double. 

Mesa Williams led the Orediggers with 13 points. 

The Saints close the season out on Saturday against No. 24 Rocky Mountain College. It will be the Saints' Senior Night game.
