HELENA, Mont. -- A Top 25 matchup comes to the PE Center on Friday.
The No. 23-ranked Fighting Saints women's basketball team hosts No. 12 Lewis-Clark State College in their second conference game of the season.
Carroll passed their first test in convincing fashion on Tuesday, taking down Montana Tech 78-51.
"We have to continue to box out and transition defense is going to be huge," Saints coach
Rachelle Sayers said. "They are perimeter-oriented. All their players shoot the three at anytime. They're really going to up-tempo."
It will be LCSC's first conference game, as the Warriors went 5-1 in nonconference and went from being unranked to debuting at No. 12 this week. In the Warriors' most recent outing they fell 70-52 to Notre Dame de Namur.
The Warriors are led by Kiara Burlage's 15.3 points per game while Jamie Nielsen also averages double-figures with 11.5 a night.
"Traditionally, they've been a team that creates a lot of offense from its defense," Sayers said. "They're long. They're handsy. They'll play a spread zone, at times. They try to get up and down the floor. We have to defend the three-point line."
In Tuesday's Saints' win, Carroll received 15 points from
Christine Denny, 12 from Dani Wagner and 11 from
Jaidyn Lyman. Wagner (12.3 ppg) and Denny (11.6 ppg) lead the team in scoring this season.
The game is set to tipoff at 5:30 p.m.
