HELENA, Mont. -- The Fighting Saints football team once again placed one of its members in the All-American ranks.

Carroll College junior Alex Hoffman was selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

The 2019 Academic All-American Football Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Hoffman, a junior offensive lineman from Draper, Utah, has been a standout in the classroom and on the field. Hoffman was a stalwart on the offensive line, helping the Saints go 6-4 in head coach Troy Purcell's first season at the helm.

Hoffman becomes the latest Saints football player to win the award. Last season, Drew Melton also earned the prestigious honor.
