HELENA, Mont. -- Carroll College football players Alex Hoffman and Brian FauntLeRoy were selected as CoSIDA Academic All-District award winners.

The 2019 Academic All-District Football Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.

The pair will now be in the running for Academic All-America honors.

Hoffman, a junior offensive lineman from Draper, Utah, and FauntLeRoy, a junior defensive back from Whitefish, Montana, each have gone above and beyond in both the classroom and on the field. Both were core components on the football field, where the Saints polished off a 6-4 campaign in head coach Troy Purcell's first season at the helm.

Votes by members of CoSIDA propelled them to the honor and will determine if they become Academic All-Americans.
