Carroll men's soccer drops match 2-0 to COI

HELENA, Mont. -- College of Idaho defeated the Carroll College men's soccer team 2-0 on Saturday in Caldwell, Idaho.

The game began with a slow first half with neither team being able to put a scoring sequence together, Carroll only had one shot on goal the entire first half and the Yotes had none. Carroll headed to the locker room in hopes to find a way to break past College of Idaho's defense and the 0-0 tie.

Just five minutes into the second half, the Yotes' Ben Bechor was able to find his way past the defense to score off an assist from Lucas Thorne and Jack O'Leary. With this goal the Yotes took a 1-0 lead early in the second half putting the pressure on the Fighting Saints to answer.

With under a minute left the Yotes put the game out of reach as O'Leary scored off the assist from Cole Fuller to put College of Idaho up 2-0.

This loss puts the Saints season record at 4-5-1 overall and 3-3 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Saints were never able to get on the attack as College of Idaho had 21 shots to Carroll's nine.

The Saints will be looking to bounce back from this road trip next weekend as they play Northwest Christian and Corban University in Helena.
