HELENA, Mont. --
Melissa Dugger scored the game-winning goal as the Fighting Saints women's soccer team defeated Corban 1-0 on Saturday at Centennial Park.
Dugger scored in the 60th minute off an assist from
Kirsten Girolami to seal the game.
Sydney Green recorded the clean sheet in the goal, making three saves on the day.
"I'm very excited to get a clean sheet and win against a team ranked higher than us in the conference," Saints coach Dave Thorvilson said. "Difficult circumstances with having to create a new field this morning to play on. I was impressed that the girls were able to manage what they can control and not let outside factors have an effect on the game."
It gave the Saints a 2-0 week in Cascade play. Carroll defeated Northwest Christian 4-0 on Friday.
The game was moved to Centennial Park Saturday morning after previously being scheduled to be played at the auxiliary field next to Nelson Stadium. The Saints' usual home field at Nelson was home to a football game on Saturday.
"Big shout out to facilities for making today possible," Thorvilson said.
Next week, the Saints travel to Portland, Oregon, to face Warner Pacific and Multnomah.
