HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Saints men's soccer team defeated Multnomah 8-0 on Friday in Helena, Montana.
Terry Cox, a senior forward from Spokane, Washington, got the scoring started early for the Saints when he tucked away a pass from
Jose Porras less than two minutes after the game kicked off. Cox wasn't done after that and neither were his teammates.
The Saints took a 3-0 lead into half time then continued to pile it on after the break. Carroll scored five goals in the second half including two more from Cox to complete the hat trick. The other goals were scored by
Jose Porras,
Jonathan Taylor,
Kyle Thomson, Nico Kyriacos, and
Sam Malouf.
Kaden Connor, the freshman goalkeeper from Boise, helped contribute to a clean sheet for the Saints along with a strong performance from the Carroll back line. Carroll held Multnomah to three total shots in the contest while the Saints finished with 31.
This win gives the Saints their first victory of the weekend improving their overall record to 4-3 and their conference record to 3-2.
The Saints will look to go undefeated on this home stand when they take on Warner Pacific tomorrow at 4:00 pm at Nelson Stadium.
