ASHLAND, Ore. -  The Carroll College softball team fell to No. 20 Oregon Tech 2-1 in eight innings in the first game of the Cascade Conference tournament.
 
Carroll notched two hits in the first two at-bats. Jaylin Kenney singled to right field and Anna ApRoberts followed that up with a double to center to score Kenney from first to give Carroll a 1-0 lead.
 
The Saints held until the top of the sixth when Oregon Tech got the leadoff hitter on board and used small ball tactics to work her into scoring position. The tied the game up with an RBI single to right field.
 
The tie game held through the seventh inning and in the top of the eighth, the Owls notched back-to-back hits to take a 2-1 lead. The Saints went down in order in the bottom of the eighth and OIT picked up the 2-1 win.
 
Kenney, ApRoberts and Brooke Yarnall picked up hits for the Saints. Allison Williams allowed five hits and two earned runs in the loss. Loryn Williams picked up the win for Oregon Tech.
