NORTH LAS VEGAS – Carroll College men's golf took their first swings in competition of the spring season, falling to Rocky Mountain 4-1 in a match-play duel at the Aliante Golf Course
Joseph Potkonjak was the lone Saint that won his match, defeating Reece Nilson 4&3 in the No. 4 spot.
Michael Tait defeated
Austin Egan 4&3 in the No. 1 spot, Colton Murphy topped Ben Gardner 4&3 at No. 2 and Mitchell Thiessen topped
Greg Jones 8&6 in the No. 3 match.
The Saints didn't field a competitor in the No. 5 spot so Rocky's HoTae Kim picked up a point unopposed.
Carroll will play two additional tournaments in Las Vegas. Carroll plays in the Minot State Open Friday and Saturday before playing in the Winona State Invite on March 12-13.
