Carroll women's basketball falls to Montana State 64-48

HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 7-ranked Carroll College Saints battled closely with the Montana State Bobcats the majority of the way on Tuesday in an exhibition, but 21 turnovers were too much for the Saints to overcome.

Carroll fell 64-48 to MSU.

The Saints put several nice runs together to remain within striking distance of the Bobcats, but each time the Saints narrowed the margin, MSU had an answer.

Brittney Johnson gave the Saints a strong performance from beyond the arc, hitting 3-of-4 three pointers. She also added six rebounds.

Montana State's transfer from Seton Hall, Claire Lundberg, powered the Bobcats, with a game-high 25 points in 36 minutes of play.

Carroll kept it close until the fourth quarter when the Bobcats pulled away. Montana State outscored Carroll by 10 points in the second half.

Hannah Dean went 6-for-13 from the field for a team-high 13 points. She added six rebounds on top of that.

Cassidy Kosena posted a game-high eight rebounds and added four points.

Emma Madsen made her season debut, putting in six quality minutes for Carroll against NCAA D-I competition.

The game served as the Bobcats' Field Trip Game, bringing thousands of Bozeman-area school kids into Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.

This was the Saints' final exhibition game of the season. Carroll (1-0) next takes on No. 14-ranked The Master's on Friday in the PE Center.
