Carroll College opens regular season with 96-75 win over Lethbridge

HELENA, Mont. -- A new career high. His 1,000th career point. And enough dunks to leave the crowd of 607 ready for more.

Senior Matt Wyman had a night.

Wyman scored a game-high 32 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead the Saints to a 96-75 win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Friday in the PE Center.

It was the first regular season game of the Saints' schedule.

Three Saints reached double figures, as Dane Warp shoot 8-for-14 from the field to 25 points in 25 minutes of action and Ife Kalejaiye added 19.

Warp and Alex Santos led the Saints with six assists each.

The Saints took a 48-34 lead into halftime and kept that same pace up in the second half, adding another 48 points to win comfortably.

Carroll had 21 assists to 13 turnovers, while forcing the Pronghorns into 17 turnovers.

The Saints outrebounded the Pronghorns 44-29.

"We have two games under our belt now so we can see where we're at and what works," Saints coach Kurt Paulson said.

Wyman's previous career high was 28 points. He scored those in the Frontier Conference Championship in 2017.

Chase and Match Burnham did not play.

The Saints host Eastern Oregon on Monday. The Mountaineers are coached by former Carroll College assistant Carlito Labarda Jr.
