HELENA, Mont. – The eighth-ranked Carroll College basketball team hosts No. 13 Montana Western in the rubber match of the three-game season series Tuesday at the PE Center.
The Saints (21-3, 11-1 Frontier) have won 10-straight games and own a two-game lead over UMW (19-5, 9-3 FC) in the conference standings.
The Bulldogs handed Carroll their lone Frontier Conference setback, a come from behind 99-85 win in Helena on Dec. 7. The Saints exacted revenge with an 89-64 win in Dillon on Jan. 19. The winner of Tuesday's game will gain the tiebreaker in the Frontier race.
The Carroll win-streak has been spurred by defense, the only team to score over 72 points was Lewis-Clark State last Friday in an overtime game. The Saints held three opponents under 50 points.
The Saints are led by
Ryan Imhoff who scores 17.73 points and 6.73 rebounds per game. Imhoff missed the last two games with an ankle injury and is a game time decision Tuesday. The reigning Frontier Player of the Week
Zach Taylor averages 16.7 points per game.
Western has dropped two of the last three games and fell to MSU-Northern 76-73 Saturday in Dillon.
Shyke Smalls leads Western with 15.38 points per game but four players average double figures for the Bulldogs. Riley King averages a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game.
