HELENA, Mont. – The last time No. 19 Carroll volleyball played at the Fortin Center at Rocky Mountain College, the Saints came home with a dramatic five-set victory and a share of the 2015 Frontier conference championship.
 
Saturday, two teams again meet in Billings. This year, the Saints are 14-4 and share the lead in the Frontier conference standings at 3-1. The Bears on the other hand have struggled to a 6-12 record but won back-to-back matches against No. 25 Lewis-Clark State and Montana Tech (RV) to move to 2-2 in Frontier play.
 
"We haven't had many opportunities to see them play," head coach Moe Boyle said. "We didn't get chance to see what they look like but they have a tradition of winning and we aren't going to overlook that. They're game has improved significantly throughout the year they are a well-coached team and you can see it in their improvement over the last few weeks."
 
Carroll has the reigning Hitter of the Week and Setter of the Week in Paige Montgomery and Jonni Dorr while the Bears' Tess Hellerud earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
The Bears play host to Montana Western Friday before the Saints come into the Fortin Center Saturday afternoon.
 
At 3-1, the Saints sit in a tie with Montana Western for the top spot in the conference. Carroll hopes to stay on top with a win this weekend.
 
 "Every Conference match is important and we need to be totally invested," Boyle said. "Last time we played there it was for the conference title and we pulled out a win. This match is just as important. We need to bring our best game and keep building on what we have accomplished this season thus far."
