HELENA, Mont. – The 19th-ranked Carroll Women's Volleyball team host MSU-Northern and the University of Great Falls to kick off the home conference season at the PE Center.
The Saints are 12-4 on the season but dropped two of the last three. Both losses were against teams that are currently in the NAIA Coaches' Top-25.
Carroll is the only Frontier Conference team with double-digit wins and is led by veteran setter
Jonni Dorr who ranks in the NAIA top 20 in three different statistical categories.
The weekend matches will be the first home matches for the Saints since a 3-1 win over Evergreen on Aug. 25.
"This is a huge weekend for us," head coach Moe Boyle said. "We need to find some consistency in level of play. The leadership is where we want it, we have some confidence. We just have to be more consistent. It is exciting to finally play at home. Our focus needs to be on our play and not what the opposition does. There is a lot of parity in our league. We have to focus on every ball."
Carroll meets the Skylights Friday at 7 p.m. MSU-Northern is 3-9 on the season but topped Rocky Mountain 3-0 in their Frontier Conference opener and beat UGF 3-0 in Havre Thursday night.
"Northern is scrappy, they run a pretty solid quick offense," Boyle said. "They have some good returning players and some quality newcomers. They seem to be gelling well."
Saturday, the Saints meet UGF at 7 p.m. at the PE Center. The Argos are 7-9 on the year and 1-2 in Frontier play with the lone conference win coming over Rocky last week in Great Falls.
"UFG can be very good, we have seen that in the past," Boyle said. "They always play tough against us. Regardless of what our records are at, it is always a grudge match. We have to be on our toes and ready for a battle."
Both games will be live streamed via the Carroll youtube channel and live stats will be available via Dakstats.
