Saints Volleyball Falls to LCSC 3-2

LEWISTON, Idaho – The No. 16 Carroll College women's volleyball team fell on the road at Lewis-Clark State 22-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 15-12 Saturday in Lewiston.

The Saints committed 35 hitting errors and closed out the match with a .163 hitting percentage. Paige Montgomery Led the Saints with 27 kills on 59 attacks for a .288 hitting percentage. Ayla Carpenter notch 13 kills on 37 attacks for a .243 percentage and Holly Morehouse had 15 kills on 51 attacks from a .176 percentage.

Jonni Dorr tallied 54 assists three aces on the match. Natalie Kassa had 25 digs followed by Carpenter with 23, Dorr with 19 and Rayna Pilgeram with 12.

The Saints captured the first set after a 7-0 run gave late in the set gave Carroll a 21-18 lead. They would hold out for the 25-22 first-set win.
In set two, the Saints took an early lead but LCSC closed the set on a 6-1 run to earn a 25-22 set two win.

Carroll led wire-to-wire in the third set, winning 25-20.

The Saints again held control of the fourth set before the Warriors closed on a 4-1 run to earn the 25-23 win.
In the final set, Carroll earned the first set but LC led after that to earn the win 15-12 and the set 3-2.

The Saints return to action in the first home match of the season since Aug. 25, when they host MSU-Northern Friday Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. at the PE Center.
