SALT LAKE CITY – The Carroll men's soccer team fell to NCAA DII opponent Westminster College 5-1 after a huge second half by the Griffins.
The Griffins got on the board first with a goal in the 20th minute from Matthew Warne. The Saints answered 10 minutes later with a goal from
Kyle Thomson on a header from a corner kick with an assists from
Rodrigo Portillo.
The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw in the first half but in the second half it was all Westminster. The Griffins scored in the 55th and 59th minute to take a 3-1 lead and tallied goals in the 70th and 82nd minute to close out the scoring.
The Saints return home to face Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) on Sept. 9 at Nelson Stadium
