GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The No. 18 Carroll College volleyball team shook off a slow start to earn a 25-22,21-25, 25-22, 25-23 win over the University of Great Falls in the semifinals of the Frontier Conference Championship in Great Falls.
The Argos got out to an early lead but Carroll got back into the set and closed the set with the 25-22 win. UGF rallied in the second set, hitting .389 on 18 kills with just four errors to tie the match at one set a piece.
The Saints rallied, hitting .313 in the third set and .267 in the fourth set to earn the win over the Argos. UGF topped the Saints 3-2 at the McLaughlin Center just a few weeks ago, one of just a three conference losses on the year for Carroll.
Brielle Bumgarner had 16 kills on 32 attempts for a .344 hitting percentage.
Paige Montgomery notched 16 kills on 37 attempts for a .270 percentage and
Holly Morehouse had 15 kills on 25 attacks for a .440 hitting percentage.
Jonni Dorr notched 52 assists and a match-high 18 digs.
Rayna Pilgeram also added 13.
The Saints will play Montana Tech in the conference championship match at 7 p.m. at the McLaughlin Center. The Orediggers beat Rocky Mountain 3-1 in the other semifinal. Live Stats are available
