Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – Carroll College volleyball hit a team .279 and forced Johnson &Wales (Colo.) into 34 hitting errors en route to the 25-10, 23-25, 25-21, 25-9 win over the Wildcats in a neutral site match at Rocky Mountain College's Fortin Center Saturday.
The Saints dominated the first and four sets, hitting 15 kills to four errors in the first set and notching 12 kills and no errors in the fourth.
Holly Morehouse notched a team-high 10 kills with just two errors for a .421 hitting percentage.
Mallory Arbizzani had eight kills with just one error for a .538 hitting percentage and Briell Bumgarner tallied seven kills with just one error for a .429 hitting percentage.
Jonni Dorr notched 32 assists and 17 digs for the match.
Natalie Kassa had 12 digs and two service aces.
The Wildcats tallied 34 errors and 34 kills for a .000 hitting percentage, including negative hitting percentages in the first and fourth sets.
Carroll coach Moe Boyle subbed the second team into the match for the second set. Carroll hit just .194 in the second set while allowing J & W to hit .219.
"I was disappointed that the second team didn't continue with the momentum," head coach Moe Boyle said. "It was a good opportunity to get them playing time. There is no doubt that we will need our depth throughout the rest of the year and I hope they look at today as motivation."
The Carroll first-team returned in the third set and squeaked out a 25-21 win before regaining dominant form and blowing out the Wildcats in the fourth set 25-9.
The Saints are now 17-4 and 5-1 in Frontier conference play, this was the fifth-straight win for the Carroll.
Saints volleyball returns to conference action Thursday at the PE Center against Montana Tech. The Diggers are coming off of a successful weekend at in California where they went 4-0, including a win over No. 16 Biola.
The Saints hold a two-match lead over the rest of the Frontier Conference teams.
