Saints Volleyball hosts LCSC, Travels to MSUN

HELEN, Mont. – The Carroll college volleyball puts its perfect record on the line with a split home and road weekend. The Saints open with Lewis-Clark Thursday before traveling to Havre to face MSU Northern Saturday.

After struggling early on in the season. The Saints (8-7, 2-0) are on a roll, winning five-straight matches including two over top-25 opponents. In the five-game stretch, the Saints have won 15 out of 16 games.

Thursday the Saints face a Warrior team who ended Carroll's season a year ago. Head coach Moe Boyle knows that LCSC has an athletic group that brings challenges for the Saints.

"L-C always has an extremely powerful lineup," Boyle said. "They are very solid all around and their hitters can really put the ball away. We need to be very disciplined and make sure we are where we need to be defensively."

Leading the Warrior attack is Treneisha Doyle, and outside hitter who was all-conference in 2014.

"Treneisha was all-conference last year for a reason," Boyle said. "She hits the ball really well and knows where to put it. We need to be aware of her presence on the court."

The Warriors are 8-7 overall and 1-1 in conference with a win over MSU-Northern and a loss to Montana Tech.

Saturday, the Saints meet MSUN at the Armory in Havre. The Lights are 8-10 on the year bit lost two straight to open Frontier play.

"They are really scrappy," Boyle said. "You can't stand back and watch them, you have to take car of business every play. They also have a very good following and their home matches are usually packed. It is great environment to play but it is tough as a road team to come into that and compete well."

The Saints look to do just that and continue their win streak.
