Saints Travel to L-C, Rocky in Critical Road Swing

HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College volleyball hits the road to close out the regular season with critical road matches at Lewis-Clark Thursday and Rocky Mountain Saturday.

The Saints (8-2 FC, 17-10 overall) and ninth-ranked Bears (9-2 FC, 24-6 overall) sit in a two-way tie in the loss column for the top spot in the Frontier, although the Bears have one more conference game under their belts. Lewis-Clark (7-4 FC, 18-11 overall) is in third place.

The Saints can lock up at least a second-place conference finish with a win over Lewis-Clark but the Warriors are a tough match-up, especially at home where LC is 10-0 on the year, losing just four games all season."

The Saints beat LC 25-19, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18 in the first meeting this season. The match is slated for 7 p.m. at the Lewis-Clark Activity Center.

After a travel day Friday, Carroll faces Rocky Mountain, the preseason conference favorite. The Bears are reeling after a loss Montana Western, who was previously winless in conference, on Halloween.

The Bears have locked up at least the second seed in the conference and Saturday's match could prove to be the de facto regular-season championship at 7 p.m. at the Fortin Center in Billings.

Carroll fell to Rocky 25-22, 25-17, 23-25, 25-21 on Oct. 17 in Helena.

The Saints host the Frontier Conference tournament on Nov. 13-14 at the PE Center.
