The Carroll College volleyball team will return to Helena with a 3-1 record after a Saturday split in Des Moines, Iowa. The Saints opened their day with a three-game sweep of Olivet Nazarene, but then fell in four, hard-fought games to No. 6 Grand View.

In the opener -- won 25-13, 25-17, 25-19 -- the team finished with numbers spread across the sheet in a steady, balanced effort. Rebecca Sweeney led with 17 digs, while Madeleine Fey contributed 11. Jonni Dorr (19) and Emily Burk (17) split up the assists, while Calli Prestwood had a team-high 10 kills to go along with the seven from both Sarah Roshak and Kathleen Mulligan. At the net defensively, Roshak had five blocks while Mulligan and Crystal Schmidt each had three.

Against Grand View, Carroll opened with a 25-23 win. The host school, though, won the next three, 25-21, 25-23, 25-20.
