The Carroll men's soccer team struggled to find much offense Thursday in its first-ever game of the program's inaugural season, played on the road at Westminster.
The Griffins beat the Saints 4-1, led by a hat trick from Michael Porter. Porter, in fact, scored the earliest goal in team history to start his barrage, netting one just 1:15 into the game from eight yards out. He added the eventual game-winner just two minutes later, firing a shot off the crossbar for the 2-0 lead.
Carroll's lone goal came from Dylan Allen, who scored the program's first regular-season goal in the 11th minute from 10 yards out to cut Westminster's lead in half. The Helena product was the only Saint to manage a shot on goal in the contest, however, and Carroll finished with just three total shots.
